NAWS
Fixed and Free
Project

The NAWS Feral and Stray Cat
Sterilization Program

This feral cat sterilization program is
designed to help create targeted Trap,
Neuter, Release (TNR) programs in our
communities. The FIXED and FREE project
targets feral cats, but also allows our Cat
Coordinators to bring in friendly stray cats
at the same time for spay/neuter services.

NAWS believes that the under-served stray
cat population leads to the enormous
number of feral cats in our communities, and
is committed to decreasing the number of
feral cats and strays.

NAWS Animal Clinic Services

Low Cost Spay/Neuter

Those of us in the animal welfare arena work tirelessly to help the
incredible number of homeless pets find forever homes.  There just
are not enough homes for the large number of homeless pets, so the
majority end up being euthanized.  Something must change in this
country, and until the legislators face up to the problem by regulating
the over-breeding problem, we will do the following:

1. Increase the number of spayed and neutered animals to prevent
unintended pregnancies.

2. Work with local animal shelters and animal control facilities to spay
and neuter all pets prior to releasing them to an adoptive family.

3. Target low-income/high-risk areas to offer subsidized spay/neuter
services for their pets.

Low Cost Vaccines and General Wellness Services

We offer reduced cost general veterinary care, as well as low cost
annual Rabies, Distemper, and other vaccines that protect pets from
serious diseases.  We will also develop subsidized vaccine programs for
pets that reside in low-income/high-risk areas.

Low Cost Microchipping

It is so important to be sure that all pets are microchipped in case
they ever get away from home and end up in an animal control facility
or an animal shelter.  The facilities scan all incoming strays to see
whether or not they are microchipped, and if there is a chip the
facility will call the microchip company and will receive the owner's
contact information to allow them to come in and reclaim their lost
pet.  This program is so vital to help cut down on the number of stray
pets that end up euthanized in animal facilities because the owners
do not claim them.  Our goal is to microchip all pets!!

More Clinic Information

We are able to offer extremely low prices
because as a non-profit organization, we can
receive private donations and grants that allow
us to subsidize the true, higher cost of surgery
and keep our prices low for our clients.

We do not cut corners or quality.

We are not a full-service veterinary clinic and
focus solely on spay/neuter and general
wellness, because our goal is to prevent
unwanted litters and to help offer affordable
wellness so that every animal can be cared for.

All clinic services must be paid for in cash, we
can no longer accept checks due to the high
number of returned checks.

"No other disease or condition of companion
animals takes as many lives as euthanasia. In
fact, no other disease comes close."
